Cinebench
Cinebench gives you CPU and supported GPU rendering benchmarks, helping you evaluate your Mac or compare hardware for 3D rendering work.
by MAXON Computer GmbH
What you get
Find out how your Mac handles demanding 3D rendering.
Cinebench gives you a measured view of your Mac’s rendering performance, rather than leaving you to judge it by processor specifications. You can test your CPU and, on Macs with Apple graphics processors, your GPU using Redshift, the rendering engine used in Cinema 4D 2026. Both tests use the same scene and rendering algorithms, helping you assess the difference between CPU and GPU rendering.
You can use the results to evaluate your current Mac or compare hardware when deciding what to buy for rendering work. CPU testing supports both Intel and Apple silicon Macs, so you can assess different generations of hardware using the same benchmark version.
You’ll need to keep comparisons within Cinebench 2026: its scores aren’t directly comparable with older releases such as R23. On some Apple silicon systems, your first GPU test may also require one or two minutes of preparation while macOS compiles the necessary code.
-
Measure rendering performance
You get benchmark scores based on a demanding 3D rendering workload, rather than relying on hardware specifications alone.
-
Assess CPU versus GPU
You can evaluate both using the same rendering scene, with GPU testing available on Macs with Apple graphics processors.
-
Inform your next purchase
You can compare results from the same Cinebench version to help choose hardware for rendering work.
-
Compare Mac generations
You can evaluate CPU rendering performance on both Intel and Apple silicon Macs.
Best for
- You’re choosing a Mac for 3D rendering
- You want to measure your current Mac’s rendering capabilities
- You’re reviewing or comparing Mac hardware
Skip it if
You don’t need it if you only want everyday system monitoring or a way to make your Mac faster.
