About Ebbward
Ebbward on the Mac keeps the water at your beach one click away: water temperature, waves, wind and, at ocean beaches, the next tide in the menu bar, desktop widgets for the beaches you check most, and the full app in a window.
IN THE MENU BAR Click the reading to see your beach, when each number was last updated, and your other saved beaches.
ON YOUR DESKTOP Small, medium and large widgets, each for the beach you choose. The large one charts the next day of waves with the tide and the week ahead.
IN THE WINDOW Today at your beach, seven days of modeled offshore waves, regional wind and, at ocean beaches, the tide on one time axis, a coast map, and every source with its age.
OFFICIAL NOTICES National Weather Service alerts and the rip current risk for your beach’s coast, and the EPA UV index for its town, in the agencies’ own words and above the model readings.
OVER 4,500 US BEACHES Ocean coasts and the Great Lakes, searchable by beach or town.
HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT KNOWS Every number is labeled modeled, predicted or observed, with its age. Underwater visibility stays unreported unless someone who was in the water today reports it.
WITH AN ACCOUNT Saved beaches and settings follow you between your Mac, iPhone and iPad. Morning alerts and visibility reports work the same way on every device.
NOT A SAFETY RATING Ebbward describes conditions. It doesn’t tell you whether it’s safe to go in. Check lifeguards, posted flags and official notices before you swim.
