About RAW Supersampler
RAW Supersampler is a macOS utility for reducing and organizing Nikon NRAW footage while keeping the material in a camera RAW format.
Convert supported Nikon NEV and R3D-NE clips to 6K or 4K UHD, with optional 8K output for Nikon Z8 and Z9 users, and create Full HD proxy files alongside. Choose NEV, R3D-NE or retain the source container. The app processes RAW data without debayering or cropping, never enlarges a clip, and preserves camera metadata, timecode, audio and the recording dates of the original clip.
Choose from four source-aware quality levels with predictable file sizes:
• Q1 Max Quality — prioritizes maximum image quality at the selected resolution. • Q3 High — preserves high image quality with moderate file size savings. • Q5 Normal — balances quality and file size for editing and grading. • Q7 Proxy — creates space-efficient proxy files for smooth, responsive editing or archival workflows.
Drop clips, folders or a whole camera card onto the window and see every clip in a list with a preview, its output resolution and estimated size before you start. Several conversion tasks can run in one window, each in its own tab with its own clips, settings and destination.
Batch workflow features include recursive folder processing, preserved folder structure, live progress with time remaining, pause and resume, restarting an unfinished batch without converting finished clips again, a verified backup copy written to a second drive at the same time, a free space check before the batch starts, copying the other files of the source, comparison conversions and command-line automation.
The free version creates trial outputs with a visible watermark and a _TRIAL filename suffix. A single non-consumable Unlock Lifetime License removes these trial limitations and can be restored through the Apple Account used for the purchase.
Requires a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later.
