What you get
You get more storage by removing duplicate files and unwanted similar photos.
You can clear out extra copies of downloads, photos, music, videos, and other files without hunting through folders yourself. Gemini scans your Mac’s folders and libraries for duplicates, then suggests copies to delete so you spend less time checking every result individually.
You also get a way to sort through near-identical files, including photos taken from similar angles. You can inspect results before choosing what stays, switch between exact duplicates and similar files, and remove selected extras together. Your past removal choices help shape suggestions on later scans.
You can receive notifications when a new duplicate appears, helping you keep repeated files from building up again. If you delete something you still need, you can restore it from Recently Deleted to its original folder.
-
Reclaim wasted storage
You can remove extra copies across folders and media libraries instead of searching for them manually.
-
Keep fewer similar photos
You can review near-identical shots and delete the versions you no longer want.
-
Spend less time deciding
You get suggested deletions informed by your previous choices, while retaining the option to inspect results.
-
Catch new duplicates
You can get notified when another duplicate appears, rather than waiting for your next cleanup.
-
Undo accidental removals
You can restore files from Recently Deleted to their original folders if you change your mind.
Best for
- You have repeated downloads scattered across folders.
- You want to thin out similar photos.
- You need to reclaim storage from duplicate media files.
Skip it if
You don't need Gemini if you rarely accumulate duplicate files and already review similar photos yourself.

From the developer
Duplicate files are really good at wasting your disk space. That’s why a duplicate cleaner can free you gigabytes in a single cleanup. Gemini 2 can quickly locate and point both duplicate and similar files, which sometimes take even more space on your drive.Read the full description
