Hex Fiend gives you direct control over a file’s bytes on your Mac. You can insert, delete, or rearrange data rather than only replace what is already there. When you need to locate specific content, fast searching helps you get to the relevant part without manually scrolling through the whole file.
You can work with huge files without loading their entire contents into RAM, making the editor useful even when your Mac has limited memory. You can also compare two binary files and see differences that account for inserted or deleted data, not just changed bytes.
When you save your edits, you avoid rewriting unchanged portions of the file. Saving also requires no temporary disk space, so you do not need extra room for a temporary copy.
