StreamWriter Studio
Record radio, keep music
StreamWriter Studio is an internet radio recorder for Mac that helps you turn broadcasts into a tagged song collection, rather than keeping long, unedited recordings.
by André Lobach
What you get
You get a music library from radio, without splitting tracks by hand.
You can keep songs you hear on internet radio as individual files, rather than searching through hours of recorded broadcasts. Choose from more than 50,000 stations worldwide or add a stream URL, then start recording. StreamWriter Studio separates tracks automatically and filters out jingles and short clips, reducing the cleanup you need to do afterward.
Your recordings get artist, title, and album tags plus cover art, so you can identify and organize what you’ve saved. You can listen in the app, arrange tracks into playlists, correct tags, and add recordings to Apple Music with one click.
When a recording needs attention, you can trim it in a waveform editor and add fades. You also choose between lossless recording and a space-saving mode, and adjust track boundaries and filtering for individual stations.
-
Keep songs separately
You get individual tracks from radio broadcasts without manually cutting up a long recording.
-
Recognize your recordings
Your saved songs receive artist, title, and album tags plus cover art, making your collection easier to browse.
-
Clean up track edges
You can trim unwanted audio and add fades when a saved track needs a more precise start or finish.
-
Keep your music together
You can add recordings to Apple Music with one click instead of moving files manually.
Best for
- You want to keep songs discovered on internet radio
- You record long radio sessions and want separate tracks
- You want radio recordings alongside your Apple Music library
Skip it if
You don’t need it if you only want to listen to live radio and never save songs.

StreamWriter Studio is an internet radio recorder for Mac. Pick a station, hit record, and walk away — the app detects track boundaries automatically, filters out jingles, and saves every song as its own properly tagged file with cover art. What you end up with isn't a folder of recordings.Read the full description
