Access MDB Viewer

Access MDB Viewer lets you inspect Microsoft Access databases on your Mac without Access or Windows. It’s for you if you receive .mdb or .accdb files and need to read their contents.

by Matthew Thornton

What you get

Read Access databases on your Mac without installing Windows or Microsoft Access.

You can open Access .mdb and .accdb databases on your Mac and see what’s inside without installing Microsoft Access, Windows, or ODBC drivers. When you only need a quick look, select a file in Finder and press Space to preview its tables.

You can check table row counts, sort and filter records, and hide or resize columns to focus on the information you need. You can also inspect column types and declared relationships to understand how the database is structured. Your original files stay unchanged because the viewer is read-only, and your data is processed on your device.

If you need to take the data elsewhere, MDB Pro, a one-time in-app purchase, lets you export individual or all tables as CSV. You also get a relationship diagram and T-SQL exports containing table definitions and data for migration to SQL Server.
