BBEdit
BBEdit gives you a Mac editor for plain text, code, and web markup, suited to writing, software development, and website work.
by Bare Bones Software, Inc.
What you get
You can update text and code across files without repeating each edit.
With BBEdit, you can write and revise plain text, source code, and HTML/XML markup on your Mac. When a change affects several files, you can search and replace across them together, using pattern matching to find more than exact words.
You can move through longer source files by jumping to functions and folding sections you aren't working on. Syntax coloring helps you distinguish parts of your code, while completion reduces repetitive typing. For website work, you can edit HTML and open or save remote files over FTP or SFTP. You can also automate repetitive editing work through AppleScript, Automator, Shortcuts, and Unix scripts.
You get 30 days to evaluate the full feature set. After that, you can keep using a reduced set of core tools for free, or subscribe to retain advanced capabilities.
