What you get
You can edit text without formatting and keep notes in view.
Notepad gives you a place to work with words without managing fonts, styles, or page layouts. You can edit the text inside files such as .txt, .csv, and .xml, or paste copied text and have its formatting removed automatically. Drop a file onto the appโs Dock icon to open it for editing.
As you type, you can check your word, character, and line counts without stopping to count manually. Autosave saves your text as you work. For thoughts you want nearby, you can put sticky notes on your desktop and keep a note above other windows while you work elsewhere.
You can adjust the background color or transparency and use the app in light or dark mode. This is a plain-text tool, not a rich-text document editor. Most capabilities require a subscription or purchase.
