What you get

You get more disk space while keeping your files where they belong.

You can reduce the storage used by eligible documents, source code, logs, and other files without creating archives. Your files keep their names and locations, and you open them as usual—there’s nothing to unpack. Exact copies on the same APFS volume can share physical storage while remaining separately editable.

You choose which folders to optimize, either once or through automatic monitoring. To keep optimization out of your way, you can exclude files, protect recently used items, or leave a folder untouched while its linked app is running. You can also set different processing behavior for battery and plugged-in use.

You can see how much space compression and deduplication have saved, including totals for the past day, week, and month. An activity log lets you check what was processed, skipped, or couldn’t be optimized.
