Flat gives you a place to turn musical ideas into readable sheet music, whether you’re writing for a solo instrument, choir, jazz group, or orchestra. You can enter notes with your mouse, keyboard, or a connected MIDI instrument, then add dynamics, articulations, lyrics, guitar tabs, and chord diagrams to communicate how the music should be performed.
You can hear your arrangement as you work, transpose it for different instruments, and bring in existing MusicXML, MIDI, or PDF files rather than starting over. When you’re ready, you can export a printable PDF or an MP3 or WAV recording. The free version lets you write and save locally without creating an account.
If you need to work across devices or with other musicians, the paid Flat Power subscription adds score syncing, real-time collaboration, comments, and version restoration. It also gives you more control over printed layouts and instrument playback.
