You get one place to keep each app’s license key, registered email address, license files, receipts, and download links. When you need to reinstall something, you can search your records and copy the right details instead of piecing them together from old emails and folders.
You can also see whether a license has expired or has simply stopped receiving updates. That helps you check what you already own before paying again. To build your library, you can create records from installed apps or import existing records, then fill in any missing purchase details.
When you move to another Mac, you can bring your records along through iCloud. Automatic local backups give you another copy, and exports let you keep your library outside the app.
