Planet Stacker X gives you a way to recover clearer planetary detail from videos you’ve captured through a telescope. Rather than relying on one frame, you combine the sharpest moments into a single photo, reducing the blur caused by atmospheric turbulence. You can work with SER, RAW, and AVI files on your Mac.

You can let the app choose the best frames or decide yourself using a sharpness graph. Before stacking, you can preview how the frames line up, helping you check the result before committing. If you have several recordings to process, you can queue them to run overnight instead of handling each one separately.

Once you have a stacked image, you can bring out fine textures, reduce noise, and correct atmospheric or optical distortion. You can also fix color misalignment and adjust color balance, contrast, and exposure to make planetary features easier to distinguish.
