What you get

Make quiet audio louder and tune the sound to your taste.

You can raise quiet playback beyond your Mac’s normal volume range and adjust the balance of bass, midrange, and treble. SpeakerAmp’s free mode gives you amplification up to 999% and a 10-channel equalizer. You can start with built-in presets, save your own settings, and adjust a limiter to help control distortion as you boost the sound.

You can play local audio files in the built-in player, or apply your adjustments to audio from other apps using system-wide processing. The latter requires an additional free audio driver. You can also change system volume with your mouse’s scroll wheel.

If you want finer adjustments, Pro gives you a 31-channel equalizer and gain settings tailored to individual devices and profiles. You can try Pro for 20 hours before a one-time purchase. AirPlay devices and FaceTime are not currently supported.
