You can shorten a screen recording without losing the steps your viewer needs to follow. Mark the stretches where little happens and speed each one up by 2×, 4×, 8×, or 16×. Those sections play muted, while the rest keeps its original pace and audio, so you can preserve explanations and move quickly through repetitive work.

You can also trim silence or waiting from the beginning and end. Open an .mp4, .mov, or .m4v directly, without an import stage or a separate project file to maintain. When you’re done, export an .mp4 beside your source recording, without choosing export settings or hunting for the result.

Your recordings stay on your Mac throughout editing and export. You can work on private material without uploading it, and the app runs without telemetry, analytics, or background network activity.
