What you get

You get editable text from visuals without retyping it.

TextSniper lets you reuse words you can see on your Mac but can’t select or copy. You can pull a quote from a presentation, capture instructions from a tutorial video, or turn text in an image or PDF into something you can edit and paste into your notes or documents.

Press Cmd+Shift+2, select the part of your screen containing the words, and the recognized text goes to your clipboard. You can then paste it wherever you need it, rather than typing it out or keeping a screenshot just to preserve a few lines.

You can keep the original line breaks or copy the text as a paragraph, depending on where it’s going. If you’d rather listen, you can have the captured text read aloud. You can also start a capture from the menu bar and change the keyboard shortcut to suit your workflow.
