What you get

Find the clip you need without rearranging your video folders.

You get a visual catalog of the videos you already keep in folders. Preview a clip by moving your pointer across its thumbnail, so you can recognize the footage or locate a moment without opening a separate player. Your original files stay in place, even if you later remove the app.

You can group videos by subject, person, collection, or star rating rather than relying only on filenames and folders. Save searches with rules to return to matching clips, and get tag and people suggestions based on filenames and metadata, processed on your device.

If you want your library on Mac, iPad, and iPhone, you can sync its organization through iCloud and download videos from iCloud Drive when needed. For a local-only library, you don't need an account or media server, and the app doesn't track you.

  • Recognize clips before opening

You can scrub through thumbnail previews to identify footage without launching a separate player.

  • Keep your folder setup

You can catalog existing videos without copying or moving them, leaving your originals independent of the app.

  • Find videos your way

You can use tags, people, ratings, collections, and saved searches to find clips beyond their filenames.

  • Carry your organization across devices

You can sync your library through iCloud and download videos from iCloud Drive when you need them.

Best for

  • You have years of personal videos spread across folders
  • You need to browse and sort a collection of footage
  • You want the same video organization on Mac, iPad, and iPhone

Skip it if

You only watch a few videos and can already find what you need in Finder.

From the developer

Vidarium is a local video library manager for Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Point it at the folders you already have — your files stay put, untouched, right where you left them. Add thumbnails, hover-scrub previews, tags, people, collections, and smart searches on top. No media server, no required account, no tracking.
