What you get

Your Mac’s scenery changes with the time of day.

You get a Mac desktop that moves from morning light to evening views without choosing a new background each time. Pick from over 100 nature and city wallpapers, and your scenery follows your local time and location. You can also adjust sunrise, sunset, and timing settings to change when those transitions happen.

You don’t have to stick to one view. Create mixes that show different locations or angles throughout the day, or shuffle scenes while keeping the lighting matched to the hour. That lets you see a place change over time rather than look at the same still image all day.

You can use 5K images for detailed backgrounds or choose lower resolutions to save disk space. Your chosen scenery also appears across Spaces and on login and lock screens, so the look extends beyond your main desktop.

  • Match the daylight

You see morning, daytime, and nighttime scenery aligned with your local time, with adjustable sunrise and sunset timing.

  • Vary your view

You can mix locations and angles or shuffle scenes without losing the time-of-day match.

  • Choose detail or space

You get 5K backgrounds for detail, plus lower-resolution options when you want to use less disk space.

  • Carry the look across

You keep your chosen scenery across Spaces, login screens, and lock screens.

Best for

  • You want your desktop to reflect the time of day
  • You enjoy changing nature or city scenery
  • You want varied backgrounds without manually switching images
