Avenue GPX Viewer
Avenue GPX Viewer lets you inspect GPS traces saved in GPX 1.1 files. It suits you if you review recorded routes or check GPX files before testing apps in Xcode.

What you get
See where your GPX traces go, with map context.
You get a map-based view of your GPX 1.1 files, so you can see where a recorded GPS trace goes rather than inspect coordinates. You can keep several files open in tabs and use a small overview map to stay oriented while examining a long trace in detail.
You can view traces against Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap, or other supported maps, choosing the background that gives you useful context. Previously viewed regions from third-party map sources can be cached for offline viewing; this does not apply to Apple Maps. You can also print a trace with its map or export it as a PDF.
If you develop apps, you can check your GPX files visually before using them for Xcode testing. Quick Look previews and thumbnails are included, but Quick Look support has been temporarily suspended since macOS Sequoia because of a macOS bug.
-
Understand your recorded route
You can see your GPX 1.1 trace on a map instead of making sense of raw coordinates.
-
Stay oriented while zooming
You can inspect details while an overview map shows which part of the larger trace you are viewing.
-
Review maps without internet
You can revisit cached regions from third-party map sources offline, though Apple Maps is excluded.
-
Keep a printable copy
You can print your trace with its map or save the map-based view as a PDF.
Best for
- You want to inspect recorded GPX routes.
- You review OpenStreetMap traces.
- You need to check GPX files before Xcode testing.
Skip it if
You do not need it if you want to edit GPS tracks rather than view them.
