Squadrats Route Planning
Squadrats Route Planning is an extension for planning activities around map squares you want to collect. It’s for you if exploring new ground is part of your route-planning routine.
by Squadrats sp. z o.o.
What you get
Plan routes that help you collect more map squares.
You get a way to plan outings around the map squares you want to visit, using route planners you already know. Squadrats Route Planning connects Squadrats with tools including Strava, Komoot, RideWithGPS, Hammerhead Karoo, and Garmin Connect, so you can account for target squares when choosing your route.
Each “squadrat” is roughly a mile-by-mile square on the map. By visiting and collecting adjoining squares, you can work toward a larger connected area rather than repeatedly covering familiar ground. That gives you a concrete reason to explore nearby places you might otherwise pass by.
When you have less time, you can switch to smaller squares called “squadratinhos” and work them into shorter outings or your commute. You can give an everyday journey a small exploration goal without planning a long excursion.
-
Aim for specific squares
You can plan around the squares you want to collect, reducing the chance of leaving one out of your route.
-
Keep your familiar planner
You can use supported tools such as Strava, Komoot, or Garmin Connect to plan your square-collecting activities.
-
Explore overlooked places
You get a reason to visit unfamiliar parts of your neighbourhood as you connect collected squares into a larger area.
-
Fit exploration into commutes
You can target smaller squadratinhos when you only have time for a short outing or your usual journey to work.
Best for
- You collect Squadrats and want to plan routes around missing squares.
- You want a concrete exploration goal for local outings.
- You want to collect smaller squares during your commute.
Skip it if
You don’t need it if you only want ordinary route planning and have no interest in collecting map squares.
