What you get

Know which devices need charging without leaving your Mac.

You can check how much charge your iPhone, iPad, AirPods, and Bluetooth headphones have left while working on your Mac. Instead of picking up each device to check its battery, you can glance at the menu bar, Today View widget, or Touch Bar.

You also get a notification when a connected device runs low, giving you a chance to plug it in before it runs out. If you often forget to charge your phone or switch between several pairs of headphones, you get a clearer picture of what needs charging next.

For iPhone and iPad monitoring over Wi-Fi, you need to connect the device first and enable Wi-Fi visibility in Finder or Wi-Fi sync in iTunes, depending on your macOS version. You can then see its battery level while it shares your Mac’s network.

  • Check without picking devices up

You can see your connected devices’ charge levels from your Mac rather than checking each one separately.

  • Know when to plug in

You get low-battery notifications so you can recharge before a connected device runs out.

  • Keep charge levels in view

You can glance at the menu bar, Today View widget, or Touch Bar while you work.

Best for

  • You work on a Mac with your iPhone or iPad nearby
  • You switch between AirPods and other Bluetooth headphones
  • You often forget to charge your devices

Skip it if

You probably don’t need it if checking battery levels on each device already works for you.
