BetterZip lets you see what’s inside an archive before you extract it, so you can check its contents without unpacking everything. You can preview files with Quick Look, then rename, move, or delete items directly inside the archive without manually extracting and recompressing it.

When you need to bundle files, you can compress them to save storage space and protect sensitive contents with AES-256 encryption. You can generate strong archive passwords rather than inventing them yourself. Support for more than 30 archive formats helps you handle ZIP, RAR, 7z, and less familiar files, while ISO extraction lets you retrieve files from disc images.

You can also leave comments in ZIP and RAR archives, giving yourself or a recipient context about what’s inside.
