Get your files out of common, unfamiliar, and older archives.
With The Unarchiver, you can get to the files inside ZIP, RAR (including v5), 7-Zip, Tar, Gzip, and Bzip2 archives. If you receive archives in different formats, you can use one app to extract their contents rather than look for a separate tool for each type.
You can also unpack older formats such as StuffIt, DiskDoubler, LZH, ARJ, and ARC, making it useful when you revisit archived material from years ago. Beyond conventional archives, you can open ISO and BIN disc images and extract contents from some Windows .EXE installers; this does not mean you can run the Windows software.
When your archive contains filenames in another language, the app tries to detect the correct character encoding. That gives you a better chance of getting readable filenames instead of garbled characters, though correct detection is not guaranteed.
