Break Reminders
Breather
Break Reminders gives you scheduled prompts to rest your eyes and move your body, aimed at people who spend long stretches working on a Mac.
by Khuong Pham
What you get
You get reminders to look away, stretch, and step away from your Mac.
You get a routine for interrupting long stretches at your Mac: look into the distance for 20 seconds every 20 minutes, then take longer breaks to stand or stretch. You can also schedule water, lunch, or walking breaks, choosing their frequency, duration, and whether they fill your screen or appear as a small banner.
You get advance notice before a break, so you can finish a thought, start early, or postpone. If you tend to dismiss reminders, you can limit snoozes or hide the Skip button. Work-hour settings keep reminders quiet when your day is done.
With the one-time Pro upgrade, you can avoid interruptions during calls, screen sharing, videos, or typing. You also get posture nudges using your AirPods’ motion sensors, detailed break and app-usage history, and daily app limits. Your history stays on your Mac, without an account, analytics, or camera access.
