What you get

You can keep online videos on your Mac for offline viewing.

With Downie, you can save videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram, and over 1,200 other websites to watch without an internet connection. You can download in up to 4K when that quality is available, so keeping an offline copy doesn't have to mean settling for a lower-resolution video.

You can start a download by pasting or dragging in a link, or use the browser extension to send a video to Downie. If you haven't found what you want yet, you can search for videos inside the app rather than returning to your browser.

When you only need the sound, you can extract the audio instead of keeping the whole video. You can also have downloads converted to MP4 automatically. For other formats, you can send files to Permute. Make sure you have the copyright holder's consent before downloading copyrighted content.
