Notchie

Read scripts from your notch

Notchie is a teleprompter for your MacBook notch, helping you read prepared scripts near the camera while recording or speaking on video.

What you get

You can follow your script without looking away from the camera.

Notchie gives you a place to read your script right at your MacBook’s notch, close to the camera. Instead of glancing down or sideways at your notes, you can keep your gaze nearer your audience while following your prepared words. You get the reassurance of a script with less obvious eye movement on camera.

You can speak at your own pace rather than chase a fixed stream of text. Voice-following scrolling waits when you pause and moves faster when you do, so you don’t have to keep reaching for controls mid-sentence. You can also adjust the scrolling speed as needed.

You can import your existing scripts and change the font, text size, and spacing to make them comfortable to read. The minimal interface keeps your words in view without adding much else to distract you.

  • Keep your gaze near-camera

You can read prepared words at the notch instead of repeatedly looking down or to the side.

  • Speak at your pace

Your script follows your voice, waiting through pauses and keeping up when you speak faster.

  • Read comfortably

You can adjust fonts, text size, and spacing so your script is easier to follow.

  • Use scripts you already have

You can import your prepared text and format it for reading on camera.

Best for

  • You record scripted videos using your MacBook camera
  • You rely on prepared remarks during video presentations
  • You want your teleprompter to follow your speaking pace

Skip it if

You don’t need it if you prefer speaking off the cuff or never read scripts on camera.

From the developer

Most teleprompters sit below or beside your screen β€” so your eyes drift, and everyone watching knows you're reading. Notchie puts your script right in the notch, exactly where your camera is. You look straight at whoever's watching, because that's exactly where the words are.
