VoicePrompter

Voice-activated teleprompter for Mac

VoicePrompter is a voice-activated teleprompter for Mac that helps you follow a script while recording videos, presenting webinars, or speaking on video calls.

What you get

You can stay on script without manually scrolling or showing your notes.

VoicePrompter lets you read your prepared words while keeping your gaze near the camera. Your script scrolls as you speak, stops when you pause, and continues when you resume. You can concentrate on your delivery instead of operating a remote, pressing a pedal, or keeping up with a fixed scrolling speed.

You can place your script just below the camera, above other windows—even full-screen presentations. During calls, screen sharing, and recordings in supported apps such as Zoom, Google Meet, OBS, and QuickTime, your audience won't see the overlay. If you need to change a line, you can edit it directly without closing the prompter or stopping your recording.

You can also work offline without sending your speech elsewhere: recognition happens locally on your Mac. With automatic detection for more than 60 languages, you can read in your language without selecting it manually.

  • Keep your own pace

You can pause or slow down without losing your place; your script follows your speech.

  • Keep notes off-screen

Your audience sees your face or shared content, not your script, in supported calling and recording apps.

  • Look toward your camera

You can position your words below the camera rather than repeatedly looking away at separate notes.

  • Fix lines while recording

You can revise your script in the overlay without closing it or stopping your recording.

  • Keep your speech local

You can use voice-following offline, with speech recognition running on your Mac and no audio leaving your device.

Best for

  • You record scripted videos or tutorials
  • You host webinars with prepared remarks
  • You deliver pitches on video calls

Skip it if

You don't need it if you speak off the cuff and rarely use prepared scripts on camera.

From the developer

VoicePrompter is a voice-activated teleprompter for Mac. It listens as you speak and scrolls your script automatically — no foot pedal, no remote, no manual fiddling. Your hands stay free, your eyes stay on camera, and your delivery sounds natural. Oh, and it's completely hidden during screen sharing and recording.
