Permute gives you a way to turn video, audio, and image files into formats you can use elsewhere. You drag in a file, choose an output format, and convert it without opening a full editing app. You can change images from JPG to PNG, convert audio to FLAC or Apple Lossless, or prepare videos for different devices.

You can also make video and audio files smaller to reduce storage use and make sharing easier. If you only want the sound from a video, you can extract it as an audio file—for example, to listen to an interview without keeping the picture.

For smaller finishing jobs, you can trim files, join two videos, and add subtitle or audio tracks. You can also create an iPhone ringtone or turn text into speech, keeping several everyday media tasks in one app.

Permute is a quick image, audio, and video converter. You can use it for files of all formats because Permute can convert anything into anything (almost). For water to water-to-wine conversion, you’d have to refer to other authorities, but media files can become whatever format you need them to.
