You can replace unwanted text, add dates or numbering, change capitalization, and change or remove extensions without typing each name individually. For more involved jobs, you can combine several renaming steps into one batch.

You can also make names more useful for the files you work with. Name music files using existing ID3 information such as artist, album, title, and track number, or include image dimensions in photo filenames. That gives you more context before you open a file.

Before you commit, you can preview the resulting names and adjust your choices to catch mistakes. If you need to backtrack afterward, undo and file backup options give you a way to recover from unwanted changes.
