What you get

You get a tidier menu bar without losing access to your tools.

You can keep everyday controls visible and tuck less-used icons out of sight, so your menu bar is easier to scan. Bartender lets you decide which items deserve permanent space and which should appear only when something changes.

When you need a hidden item, you can reveal it with a click, hover, keyboard shortcut, or custom trigger. You can also search for an icon instead of scanning the whole bar. On a MacBook with a notch, you get help keeping important items accessible around the cutout.

With Bartender Pro, you can also use Top Shelf around the notch to keep files, clipboard access, widgets, and live information close by. You can control music, glance at your calendar, or use AirDrop from that space.

  • Keep essentials in sight

You choose which icons remain visible, leaving less-used items hidden until you need them.

  • Find icons without scanning

You can search for visible or hidden menu bar items and go straight to the one you need.

  • Reveal items when relevant

You can set triggers to show items automatically when something changes, rather than keeping them visible all day.

  • Work around the notch

You can keep important menu bar items accessible instead of losing them behind your MacBook’s notch.

  • Keep tools near the notch

With Bartender Pro, you can access files, clipboard tools, music controls, and live information through Top Shelf.

Best for

  • You run many apps with menu bar icons
  • Your MacBook notch leaves little room for controls
  • You want occasional tools hidden but easy to reach

Skip it if

You probably don’t need it if your menu bar already has plenty of room and every icon is easy to find.
