What you get

Turn your questions and rough ideas into answers, drafts, and images.

With Microsoft Copilot, you can talk through a question or idea and get an explanation, summary, or new perspective. You can type or speak, whether you’re researching a topic, trying to understand something complicated, or looking for a starting point on a project.

When you have something to write, you can get a first draft of an email, cover letter, story, or script. You can also revise existing text, proofread it, translate it into another language, or work on your resume. For everyday planning, you can ask for help putting together grocery and meal-prep lists.

You can turn a written description into an image, too. That gives you a way to explore visual ideas for social posts, children’s book illustrations, brand motifs, or film storyboards without having to draw each concept yourself.

  • Understand a topic

You can ask questions in text or by voice and get explanations or summaries to help you make sense of a subject.

  • Get a first draft

You can start emails, cover letters, stories, and scripts with an AI-generated draft rather than a blank page.

  • Polish your wording

You can revise, proofread, or translate your text when you need clearer wording or help working across languages.

  • Visualize your ideas

You can describe an image and generate concepts for illustrations, social content, brand motifs, or storyboards.

Best for

  • You need a starting draft for work or job applications
  • You want conversational help understanding a topic
  • You want to explore visual concepts from text prompts

Skip it if

You don’t need it if you prefer writing, researching, and creating visuals without AI assistance.
