You can get your thoughts into writing without typing them out. Record what you want to say, transcribe it, then copy the result with one click and paste it where you need it. You can start recording with a customizable keyboard shortcut rather than reaching for the record button.
When you stop speaking, MurmurType can stop recording and begin transcription automatically. You can adjust how long a silence it waits for to match your pauses. If you need your words in another language, you can get a translated transcription in one of 19 languages, including English, German, and Chinese.
Your audio files, transcriptions, and API keys are stored locally, but transcription is not entirely local: requests go to OpenAI through MurmurType’s server. The app states that its server does not log or store that data.
