What you get

You get searchable meeting notes without sending your conversations to the cloud.

You can keep a record of both sides of your calls without inviting a recording bot. talat captures your microphone and system audio, then transcribes the conversation on your Mac as it happens. You can record, transcribe, and summarize offline, with processing kept local by default.

After each meeting, you get a summary, topic chapters, and action items to review instead of replaying the whole recording. As you name speakers, talat learns to recognize their voices in later conversations. You can search and edit past meeting notes, with calendar events helping you connect recordings to the right meeting.

You can also turn imported audio into searchable notes and automatically save meeting notes to Obsidian or a folder you choose. When you need to write rather than record a meeting, dictation lets you enter text by speaking anywhere on your Mac.

  • Keep conversations local

You can record, transcribe, and summarize on your Mac without uploading meeting audio to a cloud service.

  • Review without replaying

You get summaries, topic chapters, and action items so you can revisit the discussion without listening to the entire recording.

  • Find past discussions

You can search and edit your meeting history, with calendar context and recognized speakers helping you follow the conversation.

  • Keep notes where you work

You can automatically export notes to Obsidian or a chosen folder rather than manually moving them after every meeting.

  • Speak instead of typing

You can dictate text anywhere on your Mac when speaking is more convenient than using the keyboard.

Best for

  • You want meeting notes processed locally
  • You regularly revisit decisions from calls
  • You keep meeting records in Obsidian

Skip it if

You don't need it if you rarely record conversations and already have all the transcription and dictation tools you need.
