Final Video Player
MKV & MP4
You get a Mac media player for watching local videos, playing music, and opening online streams, with support for formats including MKV, MP4, and FLAC.
by Cynoble
What you get
Watch your videos on your Mac or send them to a larger screen.
You can watch MKV, MP4, AVI, and many other video formats in one Mac player, as well as listen to audio files such as MP3 and FLAC. Drop a file onto the Dock icon to start, or enter an online video or live broadcast URL to watch it in the app.
You can load external subtitles, build playlists, and choose whether your media plays in order, randomly, or on repeat. Recently played files and playlists help you return to what you were watching. When you need other apps open, you can keep your video visible in a small, always-on-top player.
You can also send media to a larger screen using AirPlay or DLNA. Casting, speed adjustments from 0.1× to 16×, subtitle timing adjustments, and media snapshots and recording are listed as paid-plan features.
-
Open varied media files
You can watch common and less common video formats and listen to audio files in the same player.
-
Watch online streams
You can enter a video or live broadcast URL to play it directly in the app.
-
Keep video in view
You can watch in an always-on-top mini player while using other apps.
-
Choose your viewing pace
With a paid plan, you can slow playback to 0.1×, speed it up to 16×, and adjust subtitle timing.
-
Use a larger screen
With a paid plan, you can cast media through AirPlay or DLNA instead of watching only on your Mac.
Best for
- You watch local videos in several file formats
- You want to open online video or live broadcast URLs
- You want a small video window alongside other apps
Skip it if
You probably don't need it if your current player already handles your files and you don't need URL playback or casting.
