Folder Preview Pro
Peek inside. Stay in flow
Folder Preview Pro is a Mac Quick Look utility for you if you frequently check folders and archives and want to browse their contents without opening more Finder windows.
by Anybox Ltd
What you get
See inside folders and archives without opening more Finder windows.
You can check what’s inside a folder by selecting it and pressing Space. Folder Preview Pro shows its contents in Quick Look, with thumbnails for file types Finder supports. You can then move into nested folders without opening additional Finder windows.
You can also inspect ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR, GZ, and BZ2 archives before unpacking them. That lets you check whether an archive contains what you need before deciding to extract it.
When you spot a file you want, you can open or copy it directly from the preview window, or right-click to preview it there. You can use the same workflow in Finder and supported third-party file managers.
-
Check folders with Space
You see a folder’s contents in Quick Look instead of opening it in another Finder window.
-
Inspect before unpacking
You can check supported archives for the contents you need before extracting them.
-
Browse deeper in one window
You can move through nested folders while keeping your browsing inside Quick Look.
-
Act on files directly
You can open, copy, or preview a file from the Quick Look window without switching back to browse the folder.
Best for
- You frequently inspect folders with multiple levels of subfolders
- You want to check downloaded archives before unpacking them
- You use Quick Look to decide which files to open or copy
Skip it if
You probably don’t need it if opening folders in Finder and extracting archives before checking them already suits your workflow.

From the developer
Folder Preview Pro is a Quick Look utility for Mac. Preview folders and archives, then open, copy, or peek at files right inside the Quick Look window. It also works with nested folders, so you can keep browsing without opening yet another Finder window. Tiny action, big sigh of relief.Read the full description
