What you get

Turn your video clips into GIFs with the timing and framing you want.

Gifski gives you animated GIFs from videos you already have, including Mac screen recordings. You can trim away unwanted footage, crop the frame, and set exact dimensions so the result shows just the part you want. Its color handling helps preserve detail and gradients from your source video.

You control how the animation feels: change its speed, add a pause between loops, or make it play forward and backward. You can preview the result before converting, then copy, share, or drag the finished GIF where you need it.

If your GIF is too large, you can reduce its dimensions, frame rate, or quality. You can also export your adjusted clip as a video instead. You’ll need a separate video editor if you want to add text or graphic elements.

Keep only what matters

You can trim and crop your clip so the GIF focuses on the moment or area you want to show.
Set the right rhythm

You can adjust speed, loop delays, and forward-and-backward playback to suit your clip.
Balance size and detail

You can preserve richer colors or reduce dimensions, frame rate, and quality when file size matters more.
Check before you convert

You can preview your animation before conversion, then copy, share, or drag the finished GIF into place.

Best for

You want to share a short screen recording as a GIF.
You need a looping animation of your design work.
You have a video clip that needs trimming and resizing before conversion.

Skip it if

You need to create animations from scratch or add text and graphic elements rather than convert existing videos.

From the developer

Convert videos to high-quality GIFs. Gifski converts videos to animated GIFs that use thousands of colors per frame. This is made possible by some fancy features for efficient cross-frame palettes and temporal dithering. Keep in mind that Gifski is a converter, not a GIF creator.
