Movies And Maps lets you review dash cam footage alongside its GPS route, save still images, and export trimmed clips. It suits drivers whose recordings include compatible location data.

What you get
See where you were as you review your dash cam footage.
You can watch your dash cam recordings while a map follows your position along the recorded route. When your files contain the data, you can also see speed, altitude, and accelerometer readings update during playback, giving you more context for what happened on the road.
You can browse your recordings to find a particular scene, then save a full-resolution still and crop, sharpen, or enhance it before saving. If you only need part of a recording, you can trim it and export the clip at its original or a lower resolution, together with the corresponding GPS log. Similarly named video and log files are paired automatically; you can also pair them manually.
Before you rely on it, check that macOS can play your video format and that your location data is compatible. Supported sources include NMEA, GPX, BMW Drive Recorder JSON, and embedded ISO6709 GPS metadata. Some dash cams may require third-party tools to extract usable logs.
